The Department of Food Science and Technology of the School of Food Sciences of the University of West Attica operates a Doctoral (PhD) Studies Program in a wide range of research fields. Doctoral studies aim to promote original research approaches in the scientific areas, fields or disciplines offered by the Department. The Program leads to the acquisition of a Doctoral Thesis, the award of which constitutes the highest academic distinction. For this reason, the Doctoral Thesis must be of high level and quality in order to ensure the recognition of its holder by the University and the scientific community in general in the national and international arena. The PhD is an academic title that certifies that its holder has carried out original scientific research in depth and has contributed to the formation of modern scientific knowledge with autonomous production of scientific results in the respective scientific field.
